how accurate are weight measurements with ultrasound

It's a ball park estimate lol. I've heard of some being close while others weren't. My ob was pretty accurate . She said he wasn't more than 6.5 -7 lbs and he was 7 when born but dropped to 6.5 before leaving the hospital lol

awww I'm 32 weeks but he says measuring 35 ND baby Is almost 5 pounds

They check to make sure growth is on track with development , it's like a safeguard rather than a real weight check

The farther long you are the harder it gets to be able to tell. They were predicting my baby to be like 9.5 LBS but he ended up only being 7LBs and 14 oz

my doc and my aunt (she's an ultrasound tech) predicted my daughter would be about 7 lbs 11oz she weighed exactly 7lbs 8 oz so I guess it just depends

also take into consideration they're a bit swollen up in there that's why some babies lose a little weight before leaving hospital
