so my birth story...

On Saturday the 7th I started getting pains around 2.pm, I was thinking it was just "practice contractions" or his head engaging, by 3pm I realised the pains were every 3-6 minutes lasting around 30 seconds. I rang my mum for advice and she told me to walk to the shop and by the time I get back I will know if it's labour. so I went to the shop for a little walk and as soon as I got back and into my flat my waters began to break! from then on it was constant contractions every 5 mins or so gradually getting more painful. by around 6.30pm I was getting ready to go to hospital. my mum picked me and the OH up and we made a quick stop at McDonald's for me to try and eat something to get my energy up. by 7.30 I was in hospital with same timings in contractions just getting gradually stronger. they were going to send me home but I refused. by about 10pm I was only about 4/5 cm dilated. at this point I was starting to ask for gas and air as the contractions were becoming unbearable and more frequent. by 11pm I felt I was ready to begin pushing despite what the midwife was saying, she said I wasn't ready but I began to push a little with each contraction anyway and at dead on midnight baby Logan was born. everyone including myself couldn't and still can't belive how quick labour was for my first baby and using barely any pain relief and refusing stitches. day 2 and I'm feeling well, feel as though I'm healing nicely and baby Logan is an absolute star! such a good baby. although it was traumatic for me I have no regrets of bringing such a perfect person into this world ❤
