when do doctors usually check for effacement and dialation? I'm 32 weeks but I feel like need them…

Mine didn't start offering till 36 weeks. Maybe bring it up and ask if they'd check at your next appointment if you want to know @summerbaby89

@summerbaby89, I asked at my last appointment. I told them I had tons of pressure and cramping and I wanted to make sure I wasn't progressing too early. He went ahead and checked.

I got checked at my appt last Friday, but was still close. She said she will check my fluids at 36 weeks which is June 3rd and for dilation

last time they waited till 36 weeks and I was walking around 3 cm dilated and gave birth less then a week later so I'm like paranoid and want them to check now lol @coko @amandafikes @taraduffy79

@summerbaby89, do you have the same OB this time? If not, do they know about your past history? I'd push for a check. I had one or my babies at 35 weeks 5 days. My OB doesn't deliver babies anymore so I had to switch. The new one is like "one preterm baby doesn't matter unless it was your last." I'm just sitting here like "ease my mind!!" And he finally checked. Much to his surprise I am completely thin, he could feel the babies head, and I'm dilating."

lol wow. don't these doctors learn, preterm baby's are born alllll the time. they should definitely be checking before 36 weeks that's crazy, I'm definitely going to ask, does that mean u could give birth any day now? @amandafikes

its a different doctor every time its a clinic so I will have to tell them about before@amandafikes

@summerbaby89, yes I could go into labor at any time. It sucks. I just want to make sure he is healthy first before he comes. I was at labor and delivery for five hours last night. Contractions were consistent the whole time but I didn't dilate further so I was sent home. I hate not having answers.

ugh I know! at least they have checked you. I went to the doctors yesterday and I wont even check me at all unless I have consistent contractions! its so annoying. like I need to know if I'm closer then I'm thinking or further just for peace of mind because I am not prepared for baby to come yet. in the process of moving and barely have the things I will need @amandafikes
