Getting your membranes swept.. Does it actually help induce labor?

I don't know if it's from that or not but when my doctor did mine I went into labor that night

👆 that's exactly what happened to me membranes swept and that night contractions next day had my son

@mamaash, @tracykendyllmallory I was due today and she swept my membranes at my appointment! I hope that means labor will start soon!

I had my son a week and 3 days after mine. So I don't think that's what did it.
