So I have my second doctors appointment tomorrow. I gotta say I'm pretty upset, being a first time…

@kp_111516, unfortunately it's true. I'm sure some Drs do them more often. But some say it's not good (not saying that has any truth)

Insurance only pays for a certain amount. I had one at 8 weeks and my next one is at 18.

Mine does it every time I go if I ask also I will be finding out what I'm having tommorw

@kenitra, yeah I had one at my first appointment and I was 8 weeks. I think I will at my next appointment because by then (if they schedule them about a month apart like they did between my first and my one tomorrow) then I should be at least 17weeks by then so a couple people have said by then they provably will do one to tell me what I'm having.

I have an ultrasound every 2 weeks.. I am considered high risk because I have diabetes but the baby is healthy!

@hlanc4, it sucks.. I have been counting down the days .. not literally lol .. but I've just been SO excited and then I find out this.. ive been pretty disappointed all day.

I've had around 5 or 6 and my baby is healthy also having a normal pregnancy

They do an anatomy scan at 18-20 ish weeks. It's about and hour long ultrasound where they check that all the parts and everything is developing properly. Should be fun!

@daij, at least I'm not the only one. I kinda felt dumb for a second when someone told me this. I know u can pay if u want extra ones done but I'm pretty sure its probably expensive.

It is expensive if you don't have insurance... I had 3 my whole pregnancy one at 7w (when I was finding out) another at 17w I found out I was having a girl and my last one around 32 or 33w

Although you don't get to see your baby often through ultrasound your lucky enough to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Me on the other hand I go every two weeks for one and it's honestly tiring although I love seeing my baby all the time all these appointments are exhausting. So your bed fortunate to see your baby less. Means a healthy happy baby

@amaperalta03, I didn't think about it like that.. that's a good point. I just think healthy or complications they should do one at each check up ya know?

I had one at 6wks, one at 12 wks, another bc they couldn't find her heart beat with the doppler @ 16wks, and one during my 20 wk check up. Plus I plan on doing the 4d ultrasound for his father's day gift.

only got one ultrasound here at 20 weeks

I had my first at 11 weeks (earliest they could see me for 1st appt) and I will only get 1 more at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan. As long as there are no concerns, those are the only 2 I will get unless I make it to 41 wks. I was a little disappointed but I'm fine with it as long as it's healthy. :) plus after than point to can feel baby moving so I think that will be enough.

yeah I'm sure once I can feel the baby I'll have all the happiness I need for now. its just been a very stressful past couple days.. our car is done for and we have no way of getting to work and just.. ugh I could go on for hours about all the crazy bad luck we've had not only the past couple months but even the past couple days has been horrible.. so I was really looking forward to going to my appointment and looking at that screen and just letting all those problems melt away for a few minutes ya know? /: @babybue16
