Try referring to them as aunt when talking to them. Like, it'll be great when baby gets to spend time with aunt xxxx!! Maybe that will ease the disappointment.

@phinnybinz, I'm referring to my cousin who is already the God mother of my first son . & I only did that out of family tradition. But she seems to think that the tradition is gonna follow suit & it's not & I have no idea what to tell her cuz she's so set & stone on it. Lol

in my opinion since she is already the god mother of your first son , I'd maybe say "oh , well I had somebody else in mind and since your already the god mother of _____ I'd appreciate of you could try to understand. something along those lines ya know?

Is the baby going to have a different god mom? My best friend wants to be my baby's god mom and I let her even though I don't believe in it, because my kid would go to my sister anyways. But if it makes her happy whatever, I'm not putting in it in my will though ha

@klarrissab, well me & my bf haven't decided if we wanted god parents for him yet . He said he had people in mind but I don't know those people that well enough to say yeah okayy.. Personally , I really don't want any god parents for him . It's just too much . It's not necessary really .

I honestly don't have any friends.. yeah I have people I talk to here and there but my two girls I called best friends I don't even talk to anymore. so I've had a couple of these people I talk to every so often say "sooo... who's gonna be the god mother..!? 😏😉" and I just kindve laugh but in my head I'm thinking WE'RE not even THAT close .. a god mother is in my opinion like an aunt but better.. someone who's going to be around your child religiously almost like a second mom ina way? (idk I don't know much about anything yet as this is my first pregnancy) but I just think "no you !? we don't ever see each other so what makes u think you'll ever even be around my child" lol

Oh lord I had this problem. my sisters were all waiting for me to tell one of them that we were gonna chose them, but we chose my husband's cousin (who he's super close with). she's a sophomore in HS and my sister who is a senior was our second choice, but I had to think about who would be a better influence on our son. I'm pretty sure I told her exactly why I didn't choose her and that's because she's such a mean person when life doesn't go her way.
