You can't make someone do something they're not ready to do, but maybe you can sway him by mentioning the baby and growing up with a healthy dad and such. I had to do that with my husband and him drinking, he wasn't a heavy drinker but he would drink and drive. That seemed to work.

I've tried talking about that with him. I'm hoping maybe the baby coming will make him want to quit. We argue about it so much. @arlogreyson

I get where your coming from but as long as he promises to take that extra step to not do it around the baby, in the house or around you it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Have you tried mentioning vaping?

@kelsicutie, Arguing will only make it worse, hopefully when he sees the baby it'll all change.

He tried it, but still smokes cigs. I have really bad asthma. Being anywhere near smoke triggers it. When we first got together he said he'd quit and he has for months at a time. He always starts back up though. @lilanne1927

@kelsicutie, Also, has he looked into vaping? I'm not 100% sure if it's safe but maybe look into it. I've heard people would turn to that from cigarettes and then eventually stop smoking all together...

You can't "accept" the fact that your child could be affected by him smoking, I'm in a similar situation like this and it irritates my SOUL! He needs to really consider the baby's health and need to go outside and do it and when he comes in change his shirt and wash his hands or the better suggestion it to quit for good he'll be doing the best thing for himself, you, and the baby.

I told him EVERY TIME he does it he has to change clothes, shower, and brush his teeth before he can hold our baby. I don't want her anywhere near that. @daij
