I was told by a pharmacist that pregnant women can not take cough drops due to the menthol in them. Is this true? My throat is killing me...gargling isn't helping much nor is hot tea w/lemon & honey.

I've never heard that besides there are menthol free ones that work wonders.

buy the vitamin C ones...I was told it's better for u...and for the baby...won't harm the baby...i had to take them when I was sick.

Halls are on my can take list. and Ludens is definitely menthol free they taste like candy.

I was told the same thing by a pharmacist but she told me to take Ludens. They are safe to take while pregnant and don't have the medicine that other cough drops have.
