I wouldn't do the silver dollar thing. The doctor will give you his opinion on it. He may recommend surgery to place a mesh that will keep the hernia in place, or he may just leave it alone.

Happened to my daughter as well it is now a hernia with all the pushing she does while screaming it's normal though and will eventually go away on its own

@arivera64, that's what I was thinking. I don't want to harm her. I read it goes back in and if it doesn't they wait until 2 years old to have surgery

I don't think the dollar will harm her, but i also know it isn't necessary. I'd just wait until her appointment like you said. 😊

my 1st had a belly button hernia it went away on it own dr said don't do the coin thing bc it can keep the bowl from going in & could make it die if ur worried call ur dr Monday or call the on call nurse

@quansmommyy, my stepmom said the same thing @lil_bigmama that's what I read online that's why I was waiting until her appointment. It said if it's soft I should worry and it's not bothering her
