How much is good to pay a photographer for a maternity & newborn shoot? A photographer around here…

Yes steep. I thought it was a little much especially for around here in the middle of nowhere, tn but like I said I've never had them done, with my first baby we just went to Walmart

I believe it's expensive!! I am only paying $240 for both sessions. What's the killer is the actual pictures when they're done.

My newborn shoot was $99. That's too steep.

It's a little pricey to me. Idk if they're printing photos for you or not. Where I live I've seen some as cheap as $150 for an hour but no pictures printed it's just a cd. Then again I saw some lady on here going to pay $3000 for them. That's alot! lol I was just going to go to JCPenny, much cheaper and they obviously print the photos.

I know you do pay for what you get but I was thinking around $250 for both

If it were me I'd go elsewhere. Printing pictures is expensive too, idk if you've priced them. Plus if you get them printed from like walgreens it's not the same photo quality paper as those from like walmart or JCP, Just my honest opinion.

I think I'm going to look around a little, our little bitty town doesn't have many photographers though lol

I have the same problem here. I live in a small rural area and there are awesome photographers here but just too dang expensive so I resort back to JCPenny. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but they aren't paying for it. lol but power to you if you got the means to do so. I just can't afford much at all.

I used to work at JC Penneys only reason I wouldn't suggest them is because most of the photographs are trained for posing it's barely creative and way too much for poses they give everyone else with minimum editing. Find a local freelance photographer they have a lot more freedom to be creative and some photographers like myself have the ability to print quality photos like those at JCP or session CDs.

We don't even have a photo studio at jc Penny lol.. I wasn't very happy with my last babies pictures at Walmart, I don't think they employee true photographers there. @jacesterlingsmommy I hate living in such a small town at times!

I'm only paying $75 for each with print outs. granted the photographer is a friend but 450 seems a bit ridiculous to me

I got an hour shoot done for my maternity pictures and I only paid $45 the pictures came on a disc so you have to get them printed off yourself

I'm paying 120 for my maternity and newborn pictures

yes that is steep, I'm paid $160 for maternity and newborn (never got to do ny maternity cause I was put on bed rest 3 days before my shoot 😕) but since I didn't do the maternity photos he's going to do newborn pics and "meet & greet" pics (basically pics of fam and friends meeting the baby for the first time and a few shoots of me during labor and delivery )

Seems like everyone around here charges outrageous prices :/
