So my first time selling something on craigslist and first time using paypal and i got scammed hard…

You sold someone something on Craigslist and they were supposed to pay you on PayPal?

i made an account after me and some lady made plans for me to send my phone etc. to her son in africa but the thing is i was getting emails from "paypal" saying i had the 250 she "sent" me in my account pending all i had to do was send the tracking number to verify that i sent it and then my money would get credited and they would give her the tracking number. i paid 65$ to ship the phone out btw. the email said i would get a confirmation email in 4-8 hours to let me know that the money has made it. but i never recieved it or the money so i celled paypal actually called them and read him the emails when he said i had nothing pending in my account and he said that the emails werent sent through them. so she had time to fake send money and fake email me like paypal would and in return 65$ out my pocket and i have to pray i cant get my phone intercepted and sent back. 😭😞 Everytime she would send me a text saying she got an email from paypal saying blah blah i got an email saying blah blah blah. i should have known but ive never done that craigslist crap. it was a brand new phone in the box with a case. @twinscomingsoon

Yea it's best to meet locally bc those are usually scams unfortunately! There is a way to report the issue through PayPal though so hopefully you can get your money back - I forgot what it's called but look around online, that is if the guy you talked to didn't do it for you already.

yeah they say to only do local and cash :( every time I try to sell on craigslist I get a bunch of emails asking to do paypal and for me to ship it to them it's unfortunately really common

@mommyofdoubletrouble, yeah that's a scam you have to be careful with Craigslist. It's not pay pals fault. Craigslist is a hub for people ready to scam. Never accept anything other than cash off Craigslist. And never ship anything without getting paid first. If you google Craigslist and PayPal scams you'll see this happens to a lot of people. My husband and I were going to sell a phone that way but for some reason I googled it first and bam it was a scam so we never shipped anything. Unfortunately you may be out the money for shipping and the phone.

yeah now i know never again. i didnt know cause i never sell anything online first time giving it a try and this happens it wasnt meant to be. 😭😭 @twinscomingsoon @m8626 @amilo561
