Is it just me, or is it illegal to deny someone a promotion because they're pregnant and will be going on leave? My manager has told me countless times now that he would make me assistant manager if I wasn't pregnant and going on leave for a month.that I chose to have a baby instead of being promoted and he needs someone whose here. Uhm... I'm sorry, but that doesn't sound like it's legal in anyway! Can he do that?!

u should call the department and see. that doesnt sound like its legal. because the same thing can happen to anyone that they have to leave for a month but for a different reason..

Yeah, it doesn't seem right that I don't get the opportunity of becoming assistant manager because I'm going on leave to be with my baby for a month. I have them notice about it months and months ago, so it is at like it's anything new. And the company I work for offers up to three months, but I chose to only take a month. Yet they choose a candidate whose never on time and no where near reliable to possibly take the position. I feel like I'm being punished for having a baby.
