I had the depo shot. I didn't gain weight but I had a very messed up period after the first time

I would take the pill but I want to keep breast feeding as long as I can and my Dr said it will reduce my milk as lot plus I'm really bad at taking pills. I figured the shot cuz. it's every three months.

For the depo the only side effect for me was weight gain

i was on the depo for a year and it made me gain weight, gave me mood swings and BAD cramping it hurted so bad and i hated my mood swings and so i stop taking it and went all natural.. in general birth control gets us fat but we need protection if we dont wanna have any more babies in the future..

the pill my sis in law gain a lot of weight on the pill ... I had the Mirena I think I gain weight with that.. Birth control gets you fat but we need it

i have 2 friends who get the depo shot and they didn't gain no weight one been on it for 2 years and the other one for a couple months everyone is different but yet they do control their diet so idk

The depo shot makes you gain weight big time. If your trying to lose weight I'd pick something else. Like the Nexplanon, Mirena or the pill.

I got the depo shot after I had my daughter and gained so much weight. 😬
