Applying for child support and I have some questions, if any mommies on here have dealt with similar. BD has stated that he wants nothing to do with my daughter and that he doesn't want to be in her life. He sent messages before saying he's not going to be a part of her life, but the worst of it has been said in person. I feel like, once I pursue it legally, he'll claim to want to be a part of her life and say I withheld him from that opportunity. He's not on the birth certificate, and I want it kept that way, but pursuing CS will automatically put him on it. I don't want him to have visitation because of his volatile attitude, his drug and alcohol abuse, his mom's and his rage fits and physical confrontations, his bipolar attitude and depressive actions, etc. But I feel that pursuing this would give him rights I want to protect my daughter from him having. And, we live near a reservation so the DCS says it'd have to go through the tribal CS enforcement agency...which he has an upper hand with being a tribal member and knowing quite a few of them :/ I feel at a loss. I can't financially do it on my own at this point in time, but I want what's best for her by not having him in her life...but by pursuing CS so he has to be somewhat responsible, he'll inadvertently be given the rights he honestly doesn't deserve. Any advice? :/

File for full custody and request he have supervised visits if any at all. That way he's held responsible and can't say that you're holding him from his child.

If he doesn't want to play dad, he probably won't fight for it. With my first son I knew the "dad" wouldn't be involved. He wasn't on the birth certificate, but I went after him for child support and he didn't fight it. He pays it every month and has never tried seeing my son or making any parenting decisions on my son's behalf. I don't know what it's like in your state or the whole Tribal thing, but it's not about you and him, it's about your child. If you need them help, go for it. Chances are he won't try fighting for visitation or custody or anything

I would suggest having him sign over his rights to your baby if you don't want him to see them. but if you want child support hr will get rights.
so it's one or the other.
