@graciesmama, I don't think so. What if you're breastfeeding and pumping your first child while pregnant with your second? What then? If you are lactating quite a bit already then it is probably going to be okay. You don't want clogged ducts, or engorgment, if you don't do anything. You can consult your ob before hand but since plenty of women pump for their first child while pregnant with their second and nothing happens usually I'd say that's it's fine.

My sister had an awesome lactation specialist and she recommended starting to pump at like 37-38 weeks. Colostrum has tons of benefits and you're also able to pack it for the hospital Incase something is to go wrong and you're not available to feed.

I have a hospital visit on Saturday so I'm going to ask @cnew12 I agree with you @ashsloan that's how I look at it. If your pregnant with your second and you're still breast feeding your first there's not much of a difference.
