anyone that has gestational diabetes I've been figuring out what to have for a main meal and I've come across chicken stew with carrots and small corner of basmati rice
and home made lasagna with frozen veg...
if u like ginger nut biscuits they are so great they don't even make my blood sugars high I have my main meal before 6.30 and I snack on ginger biscuits no more than 3.... do not have any oranges in the evening
just though I'll tell u.

gestational diabetes is a pain, ive got it again (2nd baby) and I can have a meal one day and blood sugars are fine and can have the same meal the following week and blood sugars will be high......... xx

no way @natalie19 u serious I'm trying my best to get them low but I've only had to monitor it 2 weeks now and tbh we don't know what's gonna make it High so we have to test them but the only 2 dishes I can eat is home made lasagna with veg and chicken and rice

@natalie19, did u have to be induced because of the gestational diabetes with your first?

ive been monitoring since 10 weeks and 6 days, I have yo take metformin tablets with breakfast and evening meal (max dose) and inject insulin with breakfast, thats fast acting insulin but they'll probably put me on the long lasting insulin for overnight at my next appointment x

Oh ok they only found out I had it at around 28 weeks I'm seeing the diebeities dr tomorrow so she can check how the monitoring has been going.... @natalie19 did u get induced with first child because of gestational diabetes? they said they want me to try and go in to labour myself and if I havnt they have to induce me before 40 weeks so the 39th week

With my first I was induced at 38 weeks, now they like you to go full term but not more than 6 days over so they've told me this time that they will let me go full term depending on size of baby. My first son was 8lb 4oz and that was big enough x
