(Disclaimer: this rant isn't 100% out of being upset with him, just thought I'd share because I'm sure I'm not the only one with a clueless SO lol) My child's father just baffles me sometimes lol. So he swears up and down that he gets what I'm going through and looks up symptoms and what I can and can't do and what can harm the baby and whatnot, apparently however he didn't get to the heavy lifting part of things that are ill-advised for pregnant women and asks if I ever moved the boxes out of my room that I told him weren't safe for me to move because they're hella heavy and I asked him if he'd help move them...2 MONTHS AGO!!! And he JUST YESTERDAY asks me about them. I tell him I've got it taken care of without going into a bunch of detail, and he says "oh how'd you do it? You did it by yourself? Who helped you?" Boy you didn't help me and don't have any plans on helping me move or pack so why are you worried about it?! He's been being really good lately but yesterday he was so damn annoying and clueless! And then had the nerve to say I wasn't taking my yeast infection symptoms as seriously as "other girls" because I hadn't yet gotten anything to treat it until yesterday, mind you these "other girls" he's referring to probably aren't pregnant and can and probably do use any and everything under the sun whereas I have not only myself to think about who's affected by my choices right now but a little person that's still developing and depends on my body for it's health and safety needs as it grows. I kindly send him trusted articles from time to time about these things but clearly he doesn't read them and just swears by the what to expect app's first article he sees instead of actually looking and researching legit relevant stuff smh.

@pregoprincess, that's not true when it comes to heavy things. It can weaken your pelvic floor and strain your back. It's advisable not to do it unless absolutely necessary from what my doctor told me.

@pregoprincess, If you lift heavy things a lot within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy it can increase your risk of miscarriage so I just like to tell people to play it safe. My doc said everyone is different and there are a lot variables but who wants that risk you know? It's hard when you have stuff to get done though..

hell, my OB said I can still lift the 80-110 lbs of Army gear that I'm used to lifting and I'm nearly 34 weeks now. she told me that since I'm so used to doing it on the daily that I should be fine. when I was 20 weeks pregnant, I went on a 7 mile ruck march with my unit with a 85 lb rucksack. everyone is different

It just sounds like he's being ignorant. Hopefully the the closer you get the more he understand. What your doing right now is creating a miracle. He should recognize that pretty soon. I would be annoyed too
