So I am very indecisive about what birth control method I'd like to use after I give birth. I was thinking nexplanon but I've heard so many horror stories about it. I also tried asking my OB but she didn't help much and just mentioned the depo shot and the pill. What are you ladies using or have used and your experience?

I can't use birth control my body "rejects" it as the docs have put it. So I plan on doing the pull and pray method lol. I would suggest an iud or the pill

my friend just had a hysterectomy over her mirena & I have had every other form. even got pregnant on the pill so I'm in the same boat!

What is nexplanon? if its the one the insert under the skin in your arm I've had it and it was the only birth control that actually works for me and doesn't make me gain a ton of weight. The copper iud made me bleed super super heavy but I've heard the other types of iud works really well and doesn't make you bleed bad.

@sfaubus, my husband and I did the pull out method, it works my Dr said as long as your guy has good control. It worked for us too, obviously I stopped using that method since I'm now 6 months pregnant lol

I used nexplanon, it's awesome and you don't even know it's there, painless to get in and painless to get out and works for three years.

I had the first generation nexplanon called implanon. Loved it except for spotting a lot. Then I went to the nuvaring which was awesome. I just don't think that will be a big option after birth. I'm probably just gonna use condoms until I can use the nuvaring again. The pill makes me nauseous but who knows. Maybe.

after my first son I got the depo shot, and I lost all my baby weight, I had no side effects. then switched to IUD and it was horrible. I got it taken out 6months later. when my OB first put it in, it felt like labor all over again and then with every period it was so heavey(I bearly bleed, super light flow) the cramps were so intense I felt them in my stomach, back and legs. I only kept it for 6months because my OB said its just my body getting used to it but I couldn't handle it anymore. this time I'm going back on the depo shot and I can have it while breastfeeding.

I believe in the pull out method but I also had a reversal tubal so the chances of me getting pregnant again with out fertility meds is very slim.@michellevaldez4750 I was also on the merina iud and it just gave me bad cramps the I had the implanon and that shit put me in the hospital after I had it taken out.
