My baby shower is on July 17th and my SO and I were talking about it and he said he doesn't want to open all the gifts in front of everyone. I've seen this done at almost every shower I've been to, but I don't necessarily agree with the trend either. Our guest list has over 100 people, not to mention people bring other people..... I just can't imagine going through all of that. We're going to send personalized thank you notes to everyone who comes and to those who send gifts, I don't think it's necessary to go through every single gift. Thoughts and opinions...

I feel the same way , mines is july 9th and i have a pretty hefty guestlist too and i dont think going through Every gift and showing them needs to happen but i dont mind doing the big items and a few medium but clothes and little things we can go through at home plus nobody got time for that lol . But everybody will be thanked individually for their gifts

I was in the same predicament. Between the both of us, it took us an hour and a half to open them all. Because we were in a rush, it was even harder to keep track of who gave what. I'd just set a time frame like 11am-2pm and 'run out of time'.

Yeah exactly, and our shower is going to be outdoors so that's a bit much. We're going to have a boatload of food, games and prizes. I think that's enough.

No one even pays attention when you open gifts anyway lol and it's pretty boring for most people.. I wouldnt either, fuck it!

@sarinunez, thanks ! Same to you ... And i agree food games and prizes is enough for the event. The gifts are for the baby and we appreciate them but we dont have to show you everything that was brought lol .

Haha good idea!! I didnt want to open mine but my family said it was rude not to.. And literally no one even paid attention so it was just annoying and took forever lol.. Plus itll be fun to open everything at home with your boo!
