what's helped you ladies induce naturally? Fresh pineapple? Bouncing on a birthing ball? I need…

I feel like there is no end in sight even though I still have like 2 weeks. lol

@goodbyelullabye I'm really worried I'll have to be induced since I'm due so soon and have shown no progress whatsoever. Ugh

I tried everything on the planet besides castor oil and nothing worked! Hell I was medically induced and it didn't work lol

@arivera64 technically not yet. At least my midwife hasn't said so. I'm just worried since I havent shown any sort of progress. Baby hasn't dropped, no mucus plug, no Braxton hicks contractions at all this pregnancy. Granted it's not abnormal or anything I'm just a chronic worrier haha. I still have a week and a half til my due date so I have time I'm just getting anxious

If it makes you feel better my friend went from zero dilation to 'I can feel her head!' in less then 8 hours.

And she literally had no contractions until her water spontaneously broke.

None of those things are a sure indicator of labor being nearby. I was losing my plug, 2cm, having contractions for 2 weeks. Still went 3 days overdue. our bodies will do it when it's ready. Also if you have a midwife she most likely wont talk induction until about 41wk

I had to be induced, I was 28weeks went into preterm labor they stopped it with a shot, and gave me another shot before leaving the Hosp them prescribed me pills for 6 weeks to take every 4 hrs to keep labor at bay. my cervix never opened thank God but contractions wouldn't stop this medicine stopped them. at 34 weeks Dr took me off them. 3 weeks later the Dr was talking about induction may be possible. I figured 8 hrs max. she scheduled it for right before 40 weeks, I went in on a Sunday and started induction Sunday night, and then didn't deliver until Tuesday night at 40 weeks exactly

I'm being induced on my due date because I'm not progressing at all :(

@arivera64 I've been wondering if since I have a midwife it would work a little differently

There is no progress that needs to be made before 40 weeks. It makes me sad to see doctors inducing because at 39 weeks a mom isnt dilated yet

That's why I'm glad I have a midwife. I don't want to be induced until I'm actually overdue and there's really a real reason to @arivera64

I have a regular OB and she's very against induction without being at least 7 days overdue or without a genuine medical reason. She says it's laziness on behalf of the doctor and leads to higher rates of C-Sections.

@jana.bear in definitely hoping my midwife is the same way. I really want to avoid being induced

I wouldn't go past 10 days because I do know people who've had their placenta start to die and baby loses weight. But if you're only a day or two past and they're pressuring you, you can totally schedule it out a week. My doctor sorta leaves it up to the mom. She monitors heavily once you hit your due date to make sure that baby is getting nutrients but she won't force people to induce until 2 weeks late unless she thinks the baby isn't being cared for anymore.

That makes perfect sense, that's for the information! I knew going past 41 weeks could end up causing a problem. It's crazy, I used to constantly be worried about preterm labor and now I'm worried about induction haha!
