I love it but you cannot get a good paying job with just a BA in the field so be advised you will need to get a master's bare minimum if you want to make money

Psychology major here. I'm a registered behavior technician and work as a behavior therapist with kids that have autism. Once I get my BA I can become a Behavior Consultant. But thinking about going to med school-i'd like to be a psychiatrist. Like PP said you will probably want to at least get a masters in psychology.

@klarrissab, is psychology a degree you could get online? If I'm going for at least a masters I'd like to get started ASAP but I've got my baby on the way so I don't want to leave after they're born to attend school right away.

@cstrauser, yes you can get one online through an online university, but it's really expensive. What I would do is sign up at a community college and take the online classes they offer. At my community college I was able to take intro to psych & childs psychology online. As well as a lot of general Ed classes that you have to take to get a degree. Some classes you will have to take in person. But you can probably do a whole year of just online classes before you take the face to face ones. You can do a AA transfer degree at community and once you get your 60 units and done all of your psych classes you can transfer to a 4-year university or to an online college if you want.

I am doing a semester of all face to face classes this semester (spring), I'm taking my fall semester off since baby is due 2 weeks before it starts. I'm going back in the spring and just taking online classes so I can still be home with the baby.
