I'm so paranoid about pre eclampsia... how do I know if I have it? I get a lot of pains and itching…

Blurred vision, seeing stars when you close your eyes, dizzy, extreme swelled feet, hands and legs, persistent head ache and nausea! @firsttimemummy21 x

I sometimes get the blurred vision and the stars but I dont have any swelling or headaches/nausea xx @beccastirlingx

I wouldn't worry too much then! When the midwife takes your blood pressure and pee samples, she is testing for the protein in the urine and high blood pressure as that's a sign of pre-eclampsia also. I was like you, I had the blurred vision and the Stars but nothing else, blood pressure and urine samples where always okay too. If you still feel unsure, when you go to your midwife apps ask her if your BP and urine are okay, those are the biggest indicators! Hope this helped Hun xx

I had pre eclampsia, my first and main symptom was swelling my legs and face swelled excessively and I had rapid weight gain. My blood pressure started going up and then back down to normal until it just decided to stay up to dangerously high levels, I had constant headache for a week and was losing a lot of protein in my urine. I would say the biggest thing to watch out for is the swelling and the headaches, your midwife will monitor your blood pressure x

I have pre-eclampsia and have no symptoms. The midwifes pick it up in the urine and with high blood pressure. They are super cautious and would monitor you like me if you bloods and protein were high x

@fozzywoz, problem is, my blood pressure raises and drops randomly (I can feel the pumping in my ears and chest when its too high) and I have told my midwife this but whenever I'm there my blood pressure is normal xx

When did they last do your bloods @firsttimemummy21? It is mainly the protein in the wee. I'm assuming this has been ok. You can always tell them you are worried and do bloods if you want them too x
