Yes ask for broth, jello, posicles, etc. I am more of a natural birth type and i believe women need energy to labor and give birth effectively.

@arivera64, yea I know,but it's silliness to have me not allowed to eat for well over 12 hours.

Most doctors don't allow food as a precaution. If you need emergency surgery, they prefer an empty stomach so that in case you vomit, there is no food to aspirate.
