QUESTION: When did some of you mommies order or inquire about your breastpump through insurance? Seeing as I'm only 17w1d I know it's probably still a bit early, but I hate waiting until the last minute to take care of stuff. I know different insurances have different rules as to when they want you to order your pump (if it's even covered); I have BlueCross BlueShield Federal Employee Program for insurance via my dad and since this is my first little nugget and my mom didn't have that option when she had me (I'm the only child from both my parents and the insurance was obviously hella different 21 years ago) we're pretty much all completely clueless lol, if anyone else has this plan or a similar insurance plan, what were some of your experiences getting your pump through your insurance?

I looked up what my insurance (UHC) offers and I think it said I have to wait until I'm 30 days from my due date. I'm not sure exactly how it all works. I'm only 11 weeks so I haven't researched it much.

most likely they are going to make u wait to call till near ur due date, I called mine and they said to call a week before my due date and they'll mail it out, I think he's going to come much earlier tho so I guess I will have to basically wait till I give birth :(

Most insurance companies send you a pump somewhere between 36 weeks and a week postpartum. It's never too early to call and ask though. This way you can kind of make a to do list of things you need to call about or get done by a certain date. I will be getting mine thru WIC
I have to wait until i give birth, have my doctor sign a paper (basically the prescription ) and fax it to the company. I will get my pump about 2 days after i get home via ups delivery.

Mine told me 6/28/2016 I'll be able to do it. 😩😩 it said I can't order a breast pump outside of 32 days of my due date

I'd you contact your insurance they'll give you information based on your plan. Mine told me what they pay for and which companies they work with.

ask your doctor for a prescription for it. that's how I got mines. she wrote a prescription then I went and got it from rite aid
