Lately I have really wanted to go back to school and actually get my masters so I can actually do what I love but then again I don't want to be away from my babies. Do I wait until they are both in school?

My mom got her Masters while staying home with us and then when we were school age actually got her dream job.

@showersoverflowers, no! Do it now! Once they are in school you won't want to miss school plays and parties and sports... The older they get the harder it gets! My mom totally regrets not finishing school when we were babies.

@jana.bear, My mom got her PhD with 3 kids as a single mom which is awesome! But we never really saw a whole lot of her and I'm afraid of doing that to my boys. My masters would require some work on campus for labs

@showersoverflowers, I don't remember not seeing my mom. She would take us to the pool a couple times a week and study under an umbrella. She did most of her school work creatively and a ton of it online. When she had to actually go to school it was when our dad was home and then we had daddy bonding time.

@jana.bear, that's very encouraging. Thank you. Do you mind me asking what she went for?
@candacelouise that's the thing. I never want to hold regrets because I didn't listen to instinct

@showersoverflowers, she got her Masters in art history. And then she became an elementary art teacher. She took courses to be a principle so she was at the top of the pay scale for teachers. She made 60K a year as an Art Teacher and retired at 56!

@jana.bear, that's awesome!!! I would like to finish with double major with a Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition. most jobs are public health in this sector so pay is meh unless I'm practicing

@showersoverflowers, for nursing RN. She said it would've been wayyyyyy easier doing it as babies. Just do it! Masters is a year? Just think this time next year you'll be done! It'll be tough but so so so so worth it.

Masters is typically two years in my program @candacelouise it's a tough decision. I think it would be smart to do while they are so little but I also love being so present.

@showersoverflowers, oh okay. Well I think you'll be happier if you do it now rather than later.
