i know some moms avoid cutting the nails because they dont want to hurt them.. so they use the mittens

My daughter had sharp little talons even if I cut/ filed her nails. So I used them for the first couple weeks

I think it has to do with you're not supposed to cut them till they're a couple weeks old cuz the skin is sometimes still attached

@clherring22, I understand the first couple of weeks but with my first I was told newborns learn with their hands so I was just wondering if there was another reason other than the nails because I'm seeing older newborns with them on

my daughter has nails sharper and longer than an eagle but the skin is attached to them so I haven't cut them yet
