A lot of my Facebook friends are getting mad at me for not saying the name of my baby boy. we are waiting until he is born to announce it, and it's really aggravating that they can't just wait. with our first boy, we told everyone, and we ended up changing it several times before we finally decided. so it just makes sense to us that we are going to wait to tell everyone. only a few people know of a couple names I like, and they are people I trust not to say anything. how do you mom's feel about this??

everyone keeps asking me what I'm naming my daughter ... I'm about 98% sure of her name ... but they don't get I don't want to announce it before she's born ....
it's your child, nobody but you and the father should have a say on the name. we changed our sons name like three times before he was born, so it was kind of useless to post it anyways.
I wish I would have done that, because no one likes his name. They want us to change it and it gets really annoying, really fast.
that is exactly my point!! it happened with my first born, we posted the name, and now there are like 10 people on my friends list who have named their son the same thing.
I'm the same way. I'm not announcing my daughters name to anyone until she is born because (for Facebook) a lot of girls I know are pregnant with girls and the name we chose is so rare I will be petty as fuck if someone steals her name

same here, we are almost positive what our sons name will be, we just don't want our name taken by all my other mom friends on Facebook because that's exactly what happened last time. I know a lot of people end up with the same names all the time, but I don't want them to name their baby the same name as mine, only because they see I'm naming my son that specific name. it's not selfish, and I want my baby to be unique.
