Petty or naaah

So I have a close friend that I work with. We work in an office setting. Well anytime its someone birthday people go all out for them and decorate their desk bring balloons and cake etc. Well when my body came my mom (who works with me as well) went all out and made my desk all nice. So my close friend didn't do anything. She gave me a gift like a week later. Well her bday is this Monday. And I'm debating if I should make her desk all glamorous OR just buy one gift and call it a day. In my heart I really wanna go all out but at the same time I'm tired of going all out for people and dont get the same treatment. Soo what should I do?
