My SO's family expects us to get married because I'm pregnant. My family understands that you should marry someone out of love not just because we're having a child together. Pisses me off his family acts like that. It shouldn't matter to them. When we are ready to marry we will. We've been together this long; it can wait a little longer.

We've been together for 5 years and living together for 3. It's like we're already married so I don't see how it matters. Every time we go to visit them we get asked when we will and it's starting to get ridiculous. It's all they care about. Like don't be excited about having a grandchild/great grandchild just worry about us not being married. It's 2016 it isn't uncommon for many couples to have children together without being married. @lucyyxoxo_

true we are in 2016 and bc of that many traditions aren't really a priority anymore. you're not married until it's done before God or a minister. I won't be giving my bf that title until it's official. no judgement at all, but I see his parents side. if you love one another, live together and now are having a baby why not you know. just talk to them or better yet your SO so he can relay the msg to them so it doesn't become a problem ..
