Should I be concerned if I'm 8 weeks postpartum and I have not started my period and I'm not on birth control yet? Have had sex unprotected but pulled out and just worried.

It took mine 5 months after giving birth to get a period and I'm not breastfeeding

you will probably have one soon then. According to my midwife everyone is different. Some women will get their periods while breastfeeding and some won't so I imagine women will start at different times after they have stopped breastfeeding. If anything ask your OB. :)

@johnnysmommy, yes it does matter if you're not breastfeeding. if you're not breastfeeding and have unprotected sex with no birth control there is a good chance you can get pregnant. breastfeeding makes it hard to get pregnant for the 1st 6 MO but it's not a reliable form of birth control. if you don't want another child I suggest you not have unprotected sex.
