I called my sisters school today to let them know that if I went into labor one of them (sierra) would not be in school that day because she is going to be in the room when I give birth and the other sister (shalyn) will be missing two days of school after baby is born because she will be coming home with me (so will my mom for the first 2 days we are home) and this fucking principal has the guide damn nerve to say that Sierra shouldn't be in the room and if she isn't in school they will not be excused from school! First off this is my fuckig decision on who can be in the room and NO ONE is going to tell me different and second off I want them to know what could happen if they do end up having sex. I am beyond pissed.

she's the principal, that's her job to state policy. schools don't even give excused absences for major historical events like seeing the last shuttle launch. you can have them come after school. you might not want people around all of the time. you need time to rest and bond with baby.

I understand your frustration but excused absences are only for medical reasons of the student. It's just policy she shouldn't have put her two cents in about her being in the room but the excused absences are just policy.

that's crazy, all you need to getan excused absence out here is have a parent signed note or a call in.

@twinscomingsoon, yes I know that, my frustration isn't about the policy, my mom doesn't care if those days are excused or not because its something we talked about a lot before even bringing it up to the girls about our choices. I'm pissed about her input on who can and cannot be put in the room when I deliver. @cherryfield I appreciate your opinion but one of my sisters will be in the room when I deliver and the other will be in the waiting room, its my decision and its what David and I along with my mom discussed before bringing it up to my sisters.

what does the hospital allow? my hospital won't allow anyone under the age of 18 in the deliver room.

And I totally get that! She really shouldn't have said anything regarding your choice of having her in the room. That was uncalled for and completely unneeded.

@cherryfield, They allow her to be in the room. we did all of our research before we came up with a final decision.
