Do you have to have a medical reason to get induced or can you just tell your doctor you want too…

And been very sick lately

I had to have a medical reason or be at least a week overdue, not just because I was sick/uncomfortable.

I asked my doctor to get induced and she said ok. I was induced 5 days before my due date and had no medical problems.

at 39 weeks they can induce because you ask but that doesn't mean they will😳😢 I'm sorry you don't feel good

I got induced with my first because she was 1 week late the week before that I told my ob if he could've induced me that day he said yes but then joking said no to wait lol @giselllee_24

Before 39 weeks there has to be a medical reason. After that most doctor will do it just because.

I've had medical issues a lot during my pregnancy and been having headaches for like past week and can't keep any food down I have an appoiment tomorrow and I'm planning to ask him if he could induce me at 37 weeks cause I really can't take it anymore my back pains and everything else is really bad now I feel like she has no space anymore and doctors told me she already weights close to 9 pound I really hope he says yes 😔 @ashalay88 @babynessa @hermommy

was induced for my first also, dr asked me if I wanted to after i found out he was going on vaca on my due date. only induced 4 days early.

@giselllee_24 all you can do is ask<3 I know mine told me other women can ask and he won't deny them at 39 weeks but just like you I have medical issues so I'll get induced at 39 regardless. I'm she with your OB knowing your struggling and having issues he will say yes

I know my doctor wouldn't induce me until I hit 39 weeks. My daughter was a big baby she was 8 pounds 14 ounces at birth. That's another reason my doctor agreed to induce me was because she estimated that my daughter would be a few ounces shy of 9 pounds. I asked at 37 weeks. @giselllee_24

He told me like at month ago that she almost weighed 9 pounds already and I'm positive she's gained more because I've been feeling a lot of pressure and a lot of back pain 😔 @babynessa

Just ask your doctor and tell him your struggling. Just be honest and see what he says. Only thing he can say is no or wait a little longer or yes. @giselllee_24

I was actually induced for financial reasons. My insurance was going to be up on my due date, so they induced me 3 days early. If it weren't for that, I don't think he would've agreed.

@giselllee_24, I'm going to be induced at 37 weeks because medical reasons but just ask because your ob might not have a problem doing it at 37 since baby is already considered full term. but again if your baby is bigger then 9 pounds he or she may end up scheduling you for c section..
