Has anyone who has had the flu shot, been around people with the flu and not been infected with it? So, what I'm pretty much saying does it really protect us from getting sick even when in contact with someone who has it?

My boyfriend had the flu, and was sick for a good solid week... I didn't have the flu shot and I never got the flu... We just didn't kiss, or sleep in the same room... Lots of Lysol and hand sanitizer

@jj032191, @klove2016 awesome! My boyfriend believes he's coming down with the Flu, or he has symptoms of it so far. So I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get it. I've had my flu shot though!

it all depends on your immune system boo.. flu shots are only 30% sure of not getting you sick plus it has live bacteria in it which causes some people to get sick once they get it .. and hasn't been tested on preggie women .. I never got it and the last time I had the flu I was a young teen :) I'm 22 lol !

Even if you got the shot you could still get the flu...there are different kinds....best thing to do is take precautions @ericasasser Hopefully he doesn't have it!

@ericasasser, I got mine in October and have been around several people with the flu. You can still get it but it makes it less severe.
