37 w is close enough that they consider having a baby

im being induced before 40 weeks and getting my membranes swept at 37 and was told to walk and squat until she comes out IF she even makes it to 37, I guess it depends on the OB.

It may be close but it isn't the full time. Trust me I had a friend who had her baby at 37 weeks and the baby ended up being put on a breathing machine because the lungs wernt developed enough. 37 weeks is close but not full term. @smb_mommy

@tater4414 preterm labor, other than that everything is fine now, they are just worried about IUGR because I'm so little but he will induce any one at 39 weeks he goes by 37 as Term

That's crazy! Honestly I haven't heard of doctors inducing that early because of the risk of the baby not being developed enough. Every midwife and ob I've had won't induce till 41 weeks @hermommy

@tater4414 the law for induction is 39 weeks if asked the doctor can do so if he choses. I personally have reasons I won't get big enough for her to gain more than 6 pounds so mine is better out than in but his entire practice will induce at 39 most babies are ready but most also don't make it to 39. Pollard thinks she will come at 35/36

I was voluntarily induced at 39 weeks 2 days because my fiancé worked out of town and we didn't want him to miss the birth. 39 weeks is now considered full term. Some OB's still go by 37 weeks. Also, even a baby born at 40 weeks can be put in NICU for health reasons, which sucks but it happens.

I agree they should stay in a long as possible and you shouldnt try to force labor before 37 weeks. I had my daughter at 36 weeks bc of preeclampsia and she was completely healthy and i was on medicine for preterm labor with my son until 37 weeks and they induced me at 39 weeks. I went into labor on my own with my middle at 38 weeks. Most OBs wont stop labor at 37 weeks or after. By law they can induce labor at 38/39weeks. I had a friend who was induced at 41 weeks and the baby ended up in NICU bc of infection. so it really doesnt matter. a baby can end up in NICU for various reasons. And almost any doctor will tell you at 37 weeks to start walking and other things to do to induce labor.

I think if it has a serious valid reason like you do it's okay to medically induce but lots of women should let baby stay! @hermommy

I know babies can end up in nicu after 37 weeks but it's not as common for them to be there if they go til 40 weeks. I had preterm with my girl at 32 weeks made it till 34 so moms asking if they can induce before 37 makes me so mad because it's my dream to go past 37 weeks for the babies sake! @lovebuggg2016 @kbrown91

Well nobody needs to induced or try to induce themselves before that. i see where youre coming from tho. ive seen them asking the risk at 8 months. @tater4414
