when do doctors feel its necessary to strip membranes ?

It's not necessary but usually they will after 38 weeks.

Supposedly it helps your body produce hormones to go into labor. They basically use a finger to separate your bag of water from the uterus and it can be very painful. Not every body thinks so.

ouch does it matter how many cm you are I'm only 1 that I know of @jana.bear

iv had it done, didn't hurt it was only about 10 sec . but it didn't help me go into labor

I'll be 38 tomorrow and apt Thursday see what happens @jana.bear @mommybump2016

it does help some woman go into labor though just not me haha!! good luck!
