Thoughts on circumcision? For it? Against it? Why? Please, no judgment, let's keep this free of name…

My brother wasn't circumcised after birth (according to my mother) and when he was probably 17 he got a major irritation down there and had to be hospitalized. He ended up getting circumcised and was in a lot of pain. He said he wished my mom had done it to him as a baby, just sharing my brothers experience. My hubby isn't and hasn't had any problems tho so I guess it depends on the person and their hygiene as well lol

For it. Will be doing it. My husband is and I don't want my son to feel different from his own father. It's going to be his job to help him properly clean himself. I'm sure cleaning an uncircumcised penis is just the same but it'll be easier this way. It all comes down to hygiene when it comes to the probability of infection in most cases.

same here my husband is uncircumcised and when we found out we were pregnant that was one of the first things we discussed. a penis naturally has a foreskin and that's just the way nature intended.so why change it?

Completely for it. I completely understand that it's absolutely not necessary, but if and when we have a boy, it's what will be best for our family. I don't want my son to grow up feeling some type of way because he looks different than his daddy. so for us, we are very pro-circumcision. (:

we circumsized our son, he wasn't snipped though, we had the plastibell done. I did it because I've heard horror stories of me who aren't given one at birth and go through the pain of getting it done when they are older. but I don't judge those who do it either. its a choice for parents to make :)

I dunno. I guess based on my research I found that needing it later in life is less common than complications that arise from having it done.

my husband is all for it, and there is zero research that proves one way is better than the other at all, so he is the swing vote. he decided based on the fact that he wouldn't want to risk the need for a circumcision later in life, even if that risk is small with proper hygiene. he has met a few different men from different walks of life that had to have it done and wouldn't wish that on anyone

I don't want it done. My husband is, and he says he is indifferent. I compared it to female circumcision (removal of clitoris) and he had a very strong reaction. I see no difference. In both cases adults are removing sensitive tissue from another individual who has no say. My husband decided to not have a vote and let me choose. (As far as looking like his father...I don't anticipate them spending a whole lot of time together naked, especially when our son is old enough to remember.)

I'm so torn. my hubby wants it done on this baby but with my first, they didn't take enough off so he will need to have it done again 😡😡 plus he was so swollen from it, he couldn't pee. it was awful.

Totally against it. I agree with you 100%. My son is perfect just the way he was born, thank you very much. 😁
