What causes the baby cord to get wrapped around they neck? 😞 is it a way doctors can prevent it? By C-Section? Please…

when I had my last appointment with my midwife she said that it wasn't really something to be too worried about. they have seen it before and know how to unwrap it. they also said that babies move so much in there that usually it's nothing to do with the mom doing anything wrong. it just gets wrapped up.

one of my best friends was born with the chord wrapped around her neck and she wasn't phased by it at all.:)

Usually it just happens because the cord is too long. From what I've read it usually can wrap around the neck if there's not enough lubrication on the cord.

There's no way to prevent it. I was told that 1 in 4 babies are born with the cord wrapped around the neck but most of the time it's not too bad. it's pretty rare to have it wrapped really tight or wrapped twice. my step daughter had a baby 5 days ago and she was born with it wrapped twice around the neck! she was purple when she came out but she was fine :)

ohhh never turn to google. that is the best way to make yourself worry without needing to.

one thing that pregnancy taught me is not to worry about anything until a Dr has confirmed you need to worry. 9 times out of 10 it's nothing to worry about. :)
