Yea we have two bases 1 is great and the other does this but they are both Evenflo. Could it be I have the seat belt AND the latch connected? Or maybe the way the seat itself if made? Hmmmmmm

friendly advice. your only allowed to use either the latch or seatbelt you cannot use both. also her seat does look to high her chin should not be touching her chest or straps at all, can cause breathing restricions. You say one base keeps her laying lower like she should? if so id say use just that base. also try removing her head rest. @brittanycheri

Ok thanks @emmajeremy2627 I didn't know we couldn't use both. I'll undo the seat belt when we get back to our car.

Also try putting a rolled up towel under the base to make it more level @brittanycheri

@brittanycheri, it could be both. you can't use both LATCH and seat belt. but the cars seat may also need more of a bucket seat. try installing the car seat without the base, that way you can adjust the recline where it is supposed to be. she's not safe in her seat like that. also make sure it is not touching the back of your front seat at all.

You could also use a pool noodle

and yes remove the head insert. it's not allowed by your car seats manufacture and could also be a cause of her head falling forward like that

@momma1416, I do not believe evenflo allows you to do that with infant carriers.

It's perfectly safe. It was recommended for my daughters evenflo seat by a certified technician that ensures car seats are installed properly. @brittanycheri @crunchymomma

@momma1416, I know a lot of seats allow it, mostly convertibles, but I hadn't heard of anyone doing it with infant carriers. I'm about to be a CPST, but we haven't gone over infant carriers yet

My car seat base (Chico key fit) has a base that would "crank up" to make it level..it even had a level on it to show it was level. Unsure if all car seats have it but it's worth a shot!

@crunchymomma, I do not have a warranty on my car seat for I am not the first owner (could not afford a brand new one) but it hasn't been in any accidents/not expired yet. So I think the "allowing" part of this is not valid due to not being able to go after them if something were to happen. @momma1416 I'll try to rolled up towel to see if it works. @nicole_jude my car seat base doesn't have that feature.

@brittanycheri, the warranty isn't what matters. the head rest interferes with the the way the car seat performs in a wreck, potentially harming your baby. and even without a warranty, if you were in a wreck it's not the company that replaces the seat, it's the car insurance company. so if you were in a wreck, and it's deemed the other drivers fault, their insurance has to replace your seat.

@momma1416, there are a lot of car seats that don't allow it, but you are right, evenflo does allow it. I asked my instructor for the CPST class and she agreed that you're correct. I don't use infant carriers so I don't know all the brand specific rules yet.
