Ugh, not pregnancy or baby related. But we have been waiting over 10 weeks for my Fiance's state returns, I needed to catch up on things. We knew the county was taking a portion of it, but we never heard of anyone else taking any. Find out today after 10 weeks that we dont get to see a penny of it and I have to wait for a letter to see where it all went! Makes me so depressed!

Any debt that you haven't paid and is in default can file and take your refund and garnish your wages. Same thing happened to me a few years ago after my divorce. It was hist debt, but because we were married then, it was considered my debt too.

@ashalay88, yeah I know but at least in MN they have to notify you before garnishing wages, so I thought it was the same with taking tax returns. I knew he owed the county, and I knew he had past medical bills but we havent gotten any kind of notification, guess they dont need to

they took my husband's whole refund. we were going to get like $700 but child support took it.... he didn't even OWE child support!

@kattastrophe, its just messed up. I had plan for my kids with that money. He thinks medical bills took it but we wont know until the letter comes

that's very possible, did you guys have insurance last year? cause you get penalized and have to pay money if you were uninsured.
