@tuftyturtle, your comment about the lid just made me lol haha oooh dear me I used bumpers with all three of my babies and they was perfectly fine xxxx
I would also like to say that nobody knows what causes SIDS. Its all speculation. It's also thought that they occur when they baby falls into a deep sleep and 'forgets' to breathe.
ahh right I didn't no. it was just my midwife. and breast feeding support workers told me your not ment to use them anymore. I was surprised when they told me that as I did use them when my other daughters were babies. I guess it's personal preference if you want to use them or not. x
Well moses baskets are the same concept. you can't just dismiss them because it contradicts what you're saying. I personally don't give a shit if people have bumpers or they don't. We've never used them but 'ventilation' is a really poor reason. SID is more common in the first 6 months, the time when it is recommended that babies sleep in moses baskets in the same room. yeah obviously air flow is reduced through the bars where there is a bumper but the whole top of the cot is open 😐 do you not let your child sleep in a pram carry cot? that has no ventilation to the sides.
As long as you tie them tightly enough you can use them. Some people say you can't use them but they wouldn't sell them if they were that dangerous. If used correctly then it's fine @lilmissy26 X
