I can't wait for my daughter to be here so that I can have a chance to be the mother I always wanted and needed when I was growing up. I love my mother, but she's a deadbeat on her best day. She abandoned my dad, my brother, and I when I was 11. My brother was 7. We barely ever saw her, she never paid child support. Then when I was about 14 she packed up and moved to Nevada and we didn't hear from her until a year ago when she moved back. She sometimes tries now (in her own halfassed way), but it's been 8 years. The damage has been done, you know? I just hope I never leave my daughter feeling alone and in the dark like she did me.
