I had mines done at 35 weeks and my doctor did not do my butt.... she said it's pointless since baby isn't coming out of there but some doctors do it still.... ask your doc

most doctors still swab your butt because just like e coli (which is found in your poop) can give you a uti, strep B can be transferred from your butt to your vagina while wiping (I'm a lab tech and work in microbiology often).
