If you are breast feeding you definitely won't over feed. The latch is a comfort tool for him almost like a pacifier.

You can try swaddling and rocking him to sleep.

Im dealing with the same thing i get annoyed sometimes but ive learned when i just deal with it thats when she falls into a deep sleep faster and i can finally put her down instead of putting her down to early and starting all the way over

@mommy.to.be.041016, yes @leiibaaaby is right babies spend less time in a deep sleep so it's hard to move and handle them.. But once they get in a deep sleep you can nearly move then anywhere and to an position and theyll stay fast asleep.. If you don't like him staying latched you can try a pacifier but it could cause problems with him latching later... I have never had that issue some some women do.

Same with my daughter I try and wait till shes in a deep sleep if i cant wait i sneak the paci most times she just wakes right up but sometimes she will take it and suck slowly to sleep

try putting him on your chest and patting his butt. sometimes it's the simplest things that soothe them. usually they just want mommy love :)

@mommy.to.be.041016, my son did not take a pacifier that early either he did maybe for a couple minutes but that was it.. He takes a pacifier way more now almost all the time he'll take it when we're in the car and at night after eating. He's 7 weeks so maybe your son will be the same just keep trying.. I have noticed my son only like the Avent soothies thought just a FYI
