deli meat is okay as long as it's fresh, bacteria called listeria grows on deli meat as it gets older or sits in the fridge. the doctors do suggest that you heat it up in order to kill any possible listeria that grows on it. p.s. I'm a lab tech and work with this kinda stuff in the lab

I eat deli meat all the time. it is just a no no because it can contain listeria and pregnant women's immune system is lower and would be harder to fight off it the meat had it. but I mean... what's the odds of it having it? I choose to risk it. I eat a sandwich probably twice a week
