My baby's dad (been told by his family) believes he is NOT her dad and i know 100% he is. He has not talked to me in 7 months and wants nothing to do with her when she is born. Now im trying to decide if i should get child support or just get his rights taken away since he has already said he doesn't want to be in her life. The only reason im even considering not going for child support is because im scared his family will hate me for it. I need help this. Any advice?

I think it depends. if you don't want to deal with him forever then I'd just have him sign his rights away and leave it at that. his family shouldn't hate you if you did decide to go for child support because that's his responsibility

i agree with @amber188, if he doesnt want to be in the babys life dont even bother with him or his money

it's really up to you, because if you file for child support they will do a dna test and will prove that you are right. then they will all look stupid. honestly i would, but it's completely up to you.

who cares if they hate you... you have a little over who needs you go get that cash

exactly, especially if that IS his baby he needs to know and you and your baby deserve it after being treated this way for no reason. I'd for sure make them pay.

He helped make that baby, if he chooses to not be present in the baby's life, well, then he gets to support the life he helped make financially. I would never let a man get away like he had no hand in creating this life. that's just me though, I believe everyone should take responsibility for their choices.

Speaking from personal experience, make that decision based on what's best for your child. If having him sign his rights over is a decision based on anger it's probably not best, but if he has shown that he can potentially do more harm than good, then he probably doesn't need to be involved. Keep in mind that most of the time if they are forced to pay child support, visitation comes with it. Just weigh all options! ☺️

It's not fair for all of the responsibility to fall on you. It took 2 people to create your baby and just because he isn't carrying the baby doesn't mean he should get away completely free. Honestly, you and your baby are the number 1 priorities, sorry to his family!
