I'm fairly certain I am starting to dilate but the medical lingo on websites that tell u what the look for confuse me. I just know before I was pregnant there was like a harder donut shaped thingy inside and u couldn't even try to open it and now everything is soft and there is an obvious opening. my tiny ass hands won't let me see how big the opening is though. should I mention this to my ob today when I go in or will they check anyways with me being farther along?

and mine didn't check me until I started 35 weeks lol. so I would definitely mention it

my OB just told me she would start checking at my next appt, which is at 36 weeks. but um... why are you checking yourself?? it's supposed to be soft, you have a mucus plug covering everything, you don't want to rip that off...

I had been having alot of fluid come out and saw that was a sign of the plug coming out and the site said to check if u were dialated. so I followed the instructions and there's nothing covering that opening anymore @maybabyboy

well, I would tell your ob about anything you're worried about, call them if it helps. my OB did tell me that if I'm worried about fluids, put on a pad, if I soak through that in an hour or less, then call her, but if not then it's just normal extra discharge.

@maybabyboy, I have an apt today so I'm gonna bring it up then. but it has been fairly thick white discharge, not so thick it's clumpy like some of the pics I have seen, but still pretty thick. plus alot of pressure and pain right around where my cervix would start and an obvious penny sized opening

if it helps, you can be dilated for weeks and have nothing happen, but your ob will likely check and have seen it tons of times before.

@maybabyboy @bellasmommy516 @blessing2016 I just left the Dr and I am effacing already and she said to just take it easy and not push myself and I should make it to 38 weeks atleast. I am supposed to keep check on it though and if I feel any bad pain, any bleeding, or contractions I am to go to the l&d or call her
