My 6 month old is 22 lbs 4 oz 28 inches long. Do I need to change his car seat? When we put him in the carrier he looks very squished his shoulders are tight he can barely move. His feet also hang off the bottom. If so what kinda seat do I get next?

I have a 4ever carseat by Graco, they last until it's no longer needed, plus they can remain rear facing in it longer! I'm not sure what your laws are in your state so I'd check that too.

@ashalay88, I have a Graco carrier right now. I'll have to check I just moved to Wisconsin from Chicago so I'm not familiar with the regulations yet.

I believe it's probably until one they have to remain rear facing. Those are the typical standards. My son is almost 2 and 30lbs and still comfortably rear faces in the 4ever seat! The seat reclines enough that he isn't "squished".!

@andrew_nikolai2015, depends on where but I was told by the wic office that if the baby sits in the car seat like that than its best to change it ... They made me change mine when my daughter was like 9 months to a convertible seat

@ashalay88, thanks I wanted to keep him rear facing I know that's best but I wanted to know what car seat to move him up to next he's very squished in the carrier.
