how do you deal with an overly ambitious hunny? we are living paycheck to paycheck and he's making all these plans for remodeling and redoing our yard and a bunch of projects that we can't afford. but im a bad guy for saying we need to keep our priorities in order and that we can't afford it. I guess I'm a dream crusher... realist... idk. what would you do? let him have at it? or am I doing right by bringing him back to earth? :/

I do the same thing. Mine makes unrealistic promises and starts doing stuff without having the money yet. Mind you, we still need a lot for the baby! He gets so mad when I say things but if he doesn't think about it I need to!

Ha ha, my husband is like that, but with drones (he loves drones and techy stuff). Maybe some kind of middle ground? Like, I let him buy a drone, but we're waiting on the super expensive one he wants b/c we truly can't afford it. Or maybe agree to save a certain amount for it first (that's hard to do living paycheck to paycheck)? Not sure.

@t142, I told him bills need to be paid first and we need to make sure baby has everything she needs. we can't rely on the babyshower for everything she will need. I'm hoping he gets a promotion at work, if he does then we can afford these projects he wants to do, but if not then every dollar counts right now and needs to be spent responsibly. he hates me for telling him that other things come first. :/
