can you eat anything you want when breastfeeding? I asked bcuz I'm latina and all Hispanic ppl say is " don't eat this, don't eat that." drives me crazy.
btw my baby is only 3 weeks old
@withlovedkj, you actually don't have to pump and dump anymore. alcohol metabolizes from your milk at the same rate as your blood, if your good to drive your good to nurse. if you get drunk, wait till you're sober to nurse. if you feel engorged while drunk just hand express for comfort till you're sober.
Yea I'm doing that now. I've always known about broccoli but not salads. And ironically that's all I want to eat lol
@sexxymama83, well what my mom has told me is not to eat green veggies or salads bcuz makes baby gassy
try staying away from sugary stuff. like cookies. keep up with your veggies and fruits. eat as how you would want baby to eat. and baby can taste what you eat in your breastmilk. (short story ) I didn't each much broccoli when I was prego and after he came out, I ate some veggies chicken and rice. tell me how his face was like "mom wtf is this". 😂😂 I was laughing cause of his reaction
I learned the hard way that my baby can't tolerate broccoli or salad so I avoid those. They didn't make me gassy but made my son gassy.
I've been told by lactation consultants that you can eat whatever you want. Avoid large amounts of caffeine and if you have alcohol, you have to pump and dump.
You can eat w.e you want I do it and it don't affect the baby only thing try to avoid caffeine it makes baby gassy and fussy that's all
keep in mind anything that makes you gassy will make baby gassy and fussy!!!
6 months going strong, always eaten what I want lol.... I never understood why people say to avoid certain things. foods that make you gassy do so because of fiber, breastmilk is a liquid, fiber isn't lol. if spicy food caused spicy breastmilk, a lot of women would starve to death in other countries that include hot spices in virtually every dish, like Thailand or Spain
That's good to know. Thank you for sharing @crunchymomma
