For anyone that has older children and are pregnant now. Does your oldest child distance his/her self from you as often as possible during your pregnancy? I have 2 boys... My oldest which is 6 started to become very distant after I began to show. It breaks my heart because my 3 year old is constantly around me and I feel like I'm showing favoritism because I spend more time with my youngest than I do my oldest. I can force him to eat veggies or clean up a mess but I can't force him to sit under me if he doesn't want to. I never thought I'd have to give a 6 yr old "his space"....

maybe take him aside and ask him what's wrong or say you feel sad because you want to be around him, or see if there's something that only the two of you can do(hobby, ball, zoo,ect). he probably feels left out knowing there will be another baby. I know most children become independent but not always distance themselves. communication is key

my 6 year old hasnt changed at all idk if he waiting until the baby gets here before he changes but so far he is doing fine

Thanks @kelseys I have asked him about it and he says he doesn't know why he does it. I set up an in home bowling set for all of us to play and he loved it... But when I told him I'd be leaving to use the restroom he said that he doesn't care. So I had to do a double take. Just to be sure how he meant it, I asked if I left you to play alone and never joined in again would you want that? He said I don't care, you can go. That has never been my baby's reaction, normally if I quit it's no longer fun to him and that's with anything.
